In Rollingergrund, a former centre of industry and craftsmanship in the heart of Luxembourg City, a site that used to house an old printwork atelier has been transformed into a contemporary residence reflecting modern urban living. The design respects the scale of its historic surroundings while introducing a sculptural presence that acknowledges the industrial past of the site. Generous windows, deep reveals, and balconies animate the façades, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow.
The restrained material palette adds texture and depth to the clean, refined geometry. At the rear, a shared garden extends the living spaces and provides a green buffer, while the recessed top floor and roof terrace break down the building’s massing within the urban fabric.
Inside, open and flexible layouts maximise natural light. Parquet floors, neutral walls, and raw concrete ceilings subtly reference the site’s industrial heritage, creating interiors that are both authentic and inviting.
