Invited to participate to a two-phase consultation by the Pension Fund (FdC) and the City of Luxembourg (VdL), we collaborated with Iplan Architects and KCAP Architects on the redevelopment of the former Social Security headquarters in Luxembourg City as part of the “Destination Nei Hollerich” mixed-use project. Situated at the southern entry of the city, the site is a key multimodal hub, connecting tram, train, bus, and bike networks.
The project transforms a former industrial and administrative area into a vibrant, human-centered neighborhood, combining offices, housing, shops, cafés, and public spaces. Buildings are organized around green courtyards and semi-public spaces, balancing sun, shade, and privacy, while streets and plazas encourage social interaction. Roof gardens, rainwater retention, and urban biotopes enhance sustainability and biodiversity.
By integrating mobility, greenery, and flexible urban blocks, “Destination Nei Hollerich” creates a resilient, inclusive, and animated district.
